Welcome to February!
It’s the final month until spring so while it’s still cold and wintry, there’s still hope on the horizon. Make the most out of your month by hitting the slopes before ski season is over, enjoy all the warm and cozy food, cocoa, and patios, and get cozy at a candlelit concert that’s as enchanting as it is romantic. Here are 54 things to do in Charlotte.
1. Attend an Enchanting Candlelit concert
Enjoy a beautiful, intimate evening at one of Charlotte’s best venues, The Big Chill, on Friday, February 11th. A concert that combines live, classical music and the tender flicker of candlelight, the popular Candlelight Series is adding some romantic Valentine’s Day-themed events to their roster. Enjoy this talented string quarter performing live songs from Radiohead, Romeo & Juliet, and many other iconic songs to cuddle up to. If you can’t make this concert, there are plenty of other concerts you can choose.
2. Visit an exhibit dedicated to the world’s greatest–and most intriguing–modern artist
If you’re just as intrigued by the famous artist, Banksy, as we are, then you’re going to definitely love this amazing and temporary exhibit dedicated to the artist’s most incredible work. Head to the Avixchange Music Factory in Uptown Charlotte to enjoy more than 150 pieces on display of his famous work. The acclaimed exhibit took off in February and has been extended until May 29 by popular demand, so we recommend you get your tickets now before they sell out.
3-17. Take a bucket list tour around Charlotte’s most unique sights
Charlotte may not be a titan city like Miami, Chicago, and New York, but we quite like it that way. Charlotte has got a lot to offer y way of unique art installations, creative cultural centers, and more that makes it truly its own. We made a bucket list of all of Charlotte’s best sights, so why not spend the month trying to cross each one off your list?
18-23. Hit the slopes at one of North Carolina’s best resorts
If you’re new to the North Carolina skiing and snowboarding scene then look no further than this guide that describes the five, best, and closest resorts to the city (The farthest resort is only 3 hours away). Since this is the final full month for snowboarding, we recommend hitting the slopes one of the weekends of this short month before the snow disappears for another full season.
24. Have a tiki cocktail at Charlotte’s newest urban oasis
The Royal Tot has had a long journey through Charlotte, from the pop up Rumway Cove, to the only venue for the festive Sippin’ Santa, to finally opening its permanent location in Belmont. Their sister bar, Soul Gastrolounge, is also bringing some of their most popular menu items to Sister, like their Pork Belly Tacos with watermelon slaw. Come spend a morning enjoying Greek pastries and coffee then settle into lunch where you can dig into gyros and salads. Kiki Bistro officially transformed into Sister on January 28th.

It’s absolutely freezing outside (30 at its coldest) and what better way to warm up those extremities than with a soothing mug of hot cocoa.
