The EpiCentre, once a hotspot for Charlotte nightlife, has been largely vacant since the days of the pandemic. With up to 70% of tenants gone and a loan defaulted by the owner, there didn’t seem to be much hope for the former hot spot. Until the EpiCentre got a new look and name.
Now, Queen City Quarter is looking up, with 4 exciting new vendors and the return of others like Bolero, World of Beer, and Mortimer’s Cafe & Pub.
Here’s all the details about the newest openings:
Portal 123, a space that’s described as “an immersive, Instagrammable experience” has sets designed by local artists where you can take photos and reels. It closed during the pandemic but is going to be re-open this Spring, with the same dedicated mission it had before to hire local artists to create the displays.
Nostalgia Hollow Co. is a coffee shop and small retailer that sells clothing, home goods, and more.
Cajun Market is a fast casual Cajun and Creole spot.
Super Icy Brothers serves alcohol-infused Italian Ice as well as vegan ice cream and baked goods.
Most vendors are slated to open this spring and summer and the remodeling will include improved walkways, benches, greenery, and a re-painting.
