1. Jet’s Pizza
Come to Jet’s if you’re looking for that iconicSquare-style pizza the city is known for. Made with Wisconsin white cheese in a square-pan that makes a fluffy, crispy crust, Detroit is a unique style that put Jet on the map when they first started. Another great quality of the Detroit-style are the smaller pepperoni cups that curl up a bit at the edges and serve as great catch-alls for the pizza grease, creating a juicer bite. They’re also selling NY-style, thin crust, and even cauliflower crust there’s something for every palate.

2. Brewers at 4001 Yancey
3 words: best brewery pizza. We’re all for breweries that sell food, especially the kind of food that’s cheap, delicious, and shareable. Brewers has the best pizza of any brewery with pies like Meathead, a carnivore lovers pizza plus a unique butternut squash with arugula, pecorino, and balsamic plus their Mortadella pizza with banana peppers, Castelvetrano olives, pecorino, and roasted garlic oil.

A wood-fired, Nepolitan-style pizzeria. Their old-world style reflects on their contemporary menu items like Pistachio with rosemary, sea salt, ricotta, buffalo mozzarella, garlic, pistachio pesto sauce, and chopped pistachios. If that sounds a little outside your comfort zone, you can enjoy a classic Margherita with san marzano tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, basil, and pecorino.

King Of Fire is a Charlotte food truck that’s doing amazing pizzas, so much so that you’ll want to keep up with their Instagram to find out where they’ll be parking next. Their catering menu is full of unique styles of pies, from their Si’s special with buttermilk ranch sauce, breaded chicken, hickory-smoked bacon, and kettle chips, and the La Regina that comes with red sauce, soppressata piccante, arugula, prosciutto, Piave cheese, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, and extra virgin olive oil.

Head to NoDa for a casual eatery serving reimagined pub fare, with their Detroit-style square pizzas being one of their standouts. Voted best pizza in Charlotte, DaVinci has been slinging pies here in Charlotte since 2005. They’re menu consists of great appetizers, hot subs, and the star of the show: their pizza that come in 16″, 18″, and a massive 20″. They’ve got thin-crust, regular crust, and gluten-free, leaving no stone unturned when it comes to preference. Mama Ricotta’s is an authentic, Italian restaurant that serves everything from antipastis to pasta to, of course, their Neopolitan-style pizza. They’ve got a few house made pizzas like their Chicken Oregenata pizza with roasted chicken, shredded mozzarella, red onions and gorgonzola cheese drizzled with EVOO, or try Joe’s Favorite, a pizza with house made sausage, pepperoni and a ton of shredded cheese. This cozy Italian restaurant is known for its traditional Italian dishes and for a staff that will likely remember you by name. From wings to strombonis to pastas to, of course, pizza, there’s a ton of to choose from. We suggest starting out with their pizzas which come in 12, 14, 16, and 18″. Give their Alfredo Pizza a try or go for a thicker, fluffier crust with their Sicilian style.
If classic styles of pizza are more your jam, then Omaggio will be your best bet for a slice. Making classic pizza with the finest, freshest ingredients is their thing, with the occasional seasonal style of pie thrown in for good measure. Right now, their seasonal pizzas are their Country, with tomato sauce, mozzarella, roasted potatoes, caramelized onions, smoked pancetta, and Italian parsley and their Gorgonzola, Speck, and Noci with whole milk mozzarella, gorgonzola, speck, red onions, walnuts. 10. Sapienza Pizzeria
A NY-style pizzeria that landed in Charlotte in 2018, but hailed from the original location that established in New York in 1990. From appetizers like Calamari to Strombonis and Calzones, they’ve got that New York-meets-Italian menu down to a science. Their pizzas come in the usual flavors, with some unique combos added to mix things up a bit, like Broccoli and Chicken Bacon Ranch, but you can’t leave without getting one of their pizzas stuffed, like their Veggie stuffed and Meat Stuffed that are delicious and one-of-a-kind.
