4th of July might fall on a Monday this year, but that doesn’t mean 4th of July weekend isn’t going to be amazing. From Friday to Monday evening, enjoy food, live music, and fireworks all weekend long.
1. 4th of July at the National Whitewater Center
Although their dazzling fireworks display will not be happening this year, that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the two days of fun. This free event lasts from July 3rd to 4th and it’s free. On Sunday, enjoy the typical pass activities alongside yoga, live music, and their ‘Tread, White, and Blue’ 5k trail race.’ On Sunday, enjoy their ‘Revolutionary Duathalon’ where participants can run and bike through the center’s trails paired with yoga and live music performances.

Monday: 8am-8pm
2. Carowinds Celebrate America Fireworks Show
Enjoy thrilling rides and spectacular fireworks show all weekend long staring on July 2nd and carrying on until July 4th! Not to mention, Carowinds is also holding Carnivale specials that weekend as well so there’s plenty of parties to celebrate at.
3. Star Spangled Saturday at Optimist Hall
Optimist Hall, one of Charlotte’s favorite food halls, will be hosting their event on Saturday, July 2nd from 6:15 to 9pm. Enjoy one of the many food stalls set up in the market, live music, and a unique firework show at 9:30pm.
4. WBT Skyshow
The grand return of WBT’s Skyshow is upon us on Monday, July 4th. After the Team USA baseball game, which starts at 6:05pm. You can buy tickets online here starting at $19. If you aren’t able to get tickets then you can also watch the baseball game from Romare Bearden Park.
5. Tega Cay Fourth of July Celebration
Technically South Carolina, but it’s only a short 30 minute drive from Charlotte and this celebration is along the water, so we thought it’d be worth mentioning. Taking place from Friday to Sunday evening and ending with a dazzling fireworks show at 9:30pm. Enjoy food trucks, live music, and parade.
