Looking for a nature-filled getaway that’s only 4 hours away from Charlotte? Then you might want to hurry and book a room at this one-of-a-kind treehouse resort nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee called Sanctuary Treehouse Resort. According to the owners behind this up and coming project, the inspiration came from a visit to a treehouse over in South Carolina that impressed Amanda and Brian Jensen enough to think about building their own closer to East Tennessee, near cities like Sevierville.
Once it’s built, it’s slated to be the largest of its kind in the world, built over 2 championship golf courses across 36 holes. The treehouse will be part interactive (just as a kid’s real treehouse would be) as well as a resort that overlooks the course and the Great Smoky Mountains. A mix of beautiful panoramic views plus rope swings, slides, and hidden doors makes us incredibly excited for our first visit.
The resort plans to have 130 treehouses spread across 40 scenic acres, with 3 different types to choose from: Tree Fort, Tree Fort Double, and Luxe. Tree Fort can sleep up to 6 comfortably with extra amenities like a slide, drink chutes from the kitchen to the porch, and other fun surprises, while Tree Fort Double offers the same amenities, except the space is big enough for larger groups. Luxe is suitable for couples who are celebrating a honeymoon or romantic occasion or small families and features a hot tub and luxurious decor.
You can book a stay now for when Sanctuary Treehouse Resort for March 2023, when they’re slated to open. We’ll have more details as we come closer to spring.
