It’s nearly time to ring in the New Year’s once Christmas passes, and we wanted to collect a round up of some of our favorite celebrations that are happening over the weekend. Enjoy, stay safe, and let’s say bye to 2021 and a big hello to 2022.
1. NYE at Winterfest at Carowinds
Carowinds’ WinterFest is going strong this year, bringing holiday cheer and thrilling rides to Charlotte. Their annual New Year’s Eve is bidding farewell to 2021 and hello t0 2022 with family-friendly fun, holiday lights illuminating the park, and live music playing out the year. Enjoy their rides and don’t forget to catch their dazzling firework show. Tickets start at $32.
2. Charlotte Symphony NYE Celebration at Belk Theater
The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center will be hosting a special performance by Melina Doolittle, the American Idol finalist. The one-night performance will have the talented performer paying ode to greats like Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner coupled with waltzes and tangos. Tickets are priced between $29 to $109 at and include 2 drink tickets and a takeaway box of tasty hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and merriment.
3. NoDa Company Glitterati Masquerade Ball
NoDa Company Store will be hosting a free masquerade ball this year starting at 8pm and lasting until 1am. Formal attire is encouraged and it’ll feature a champagne toast at midnight. 21+ only.
4. NYE Celebration at Kate’s Skating Rink
For $10, head over to Kate’s Skating Rink for a fun NYE Celebration on Friday December 31st from 1-9pm. There will be games, prizes, skating, and drinks flowing as you ring in the new year on skates. The party is going on at all three of their locations!
5. Roaring NYE Gatsby Party at Queen Park Social
For $10, celebrate the new year in old 20s style glamour with prohibition-style cocktails and red-carpet entry. The party will be from 8PM-2AM and Queen Park Social suggests coming dressed to impress. Enjoy a midnight champagne toast Gatsby NYE photo wall, Hors D’oeuvres from 9-11pm and DJ Bryson Rider.
