I Heart Rail Trail:Lights, presented by US Bank, has returned to South End, and the light installations displayed this year have been nothing short of impressive. The event runs from March 4th through the 20th, with never-before-seen light installations by local artists.
This year, there are four installation locations, with a complete guide on the best route to take from start to finish.

Garden of Light by Meredith Dallas is one such installation in which viewers can enjoy the nature within an illuminated and abstract garden.
Head over to Atherton Mill Lawn to check out Katrina Sanchez Standfield and Caleb Roenigk’s Movimientos Illuminados, an archway that reflects Katrina’s practice with textiles and weaving in her studio. Another of the installations, Sweet Dreams by Oliver Lewis at the RailYard, combines the artists’ background in chemical engineering with art, and calls back to being a child.
When you’re done admiring the lights, don’t leave without checking out the iconic Rail Trail murals, like the colorful carpet along the floor of the Rail Trail and the confetti heart wall, perfect for photo opps.
We’ll see you there!
