The Rooftop bar, Mizu, opens in August!
Welcome to the Southpark neighborhood in Charlotte where the nightlife is lively, the arts & culture scene is thriving, and there’s a brand new Hyatt hotel. This new elegant hotel will be the venue to some interesting new eateries to add to the restaurant scene here in town. Enjoy the view from their brand new rooftop bar coming in August, more on that later, or sit back at the lounge seatings with custom local-Charlotte made murals slapped lovingly along the wall. The Hyatt recently opened on June 20th, and we’re excited to see what’s more to come. First, let’s check out the latest eatery to open, IRO, their second story bar and lounge.
IRO is the perfect stop for all day drinks. Start the morning off with an expertly made latte, matcha, or pour over and sit back in the incredibly comfortable lounge seating. The coffee bar operates between 7am-11am, where they’re also serving some Japanese-inspired treats like Milk Bread French Toast and even Charlotte’s own Duck Donuts. After 11am, they make their switch over to lunch and dinner, where they’ve got delicious sounding Asian bistro favorites like Gochujang Sticky Wings and fresh Poke Bowls. Sit back and relax near their marble table tops or brown leather lounge seats and catch the latest news on their propped TVs.
The new rooftop bar is definitely looking to be Charlotte’s hottest spot to be seen this summer. This upscale eatery does Japanese, seafood, and wood-fired favorites all evening long. With an anticipated opening month of August 2021, combines traditional Japanese cooking with modern day fusion cuisine.
If you aren’t in the mood for wood-fired on those especially hot days, you can also enjoy a nice chilled or raw version of some delicious seafood classics. And don’t forget to wash it all down with some refreshing Japanese spirits and cocktails. The bar itself is chic, minimalist, and offers sweeping panoramic views of the city. Mizu will also be open for brunch at a later date.
Head over to 3100 Apex Drive to have a staycation or to pay Mizu or Iro a visit.
