Broken Promises has been on our radar since last summer, so we’re really excited to see this new drinking spot finally open. If its anything like Lost and Found, we’re guessing that it will have great music and good vibes. The Instagram is covered in bits and pieces promoting the grand opening, with videos that depict a certain vibe. One comment, “I can’t wait to sad girl vibe in here,” gives us the impression that this isn’t going to be a run-of-the-mill cocktail lounge, but something a little more moody and vibe-y. Think FKA Twig’s newest single, “Tears in the Club,” and that might be able to accurately describe the mood Broken Promises is setting with their Instagram branding.
The location is meant to be a laidback lounge perfect for relaxing with a craft cocktail as opposed to Lost and Found, which has a full dance floor and music events most weekends. Broken Promises is meant to resemble the type of bar you may find in bigger cities like New York and Tokyo–elegant, dark, moody, with neon lights strategically placed. They’ll be playing Deep House with rotating DJs Thursdays through Sundays.
The bar spans over 2,000 square feet and has a large patio, and has been enjoyed by Charlotteans so far on its opening weeks.
