Enjoy a jazz-filled Sunday brunch or an outdoor BBQ pit with the industry’s hottest chefs.
The Bayhaven Food and Wine Festival will raise funds and provide “opportunities for Black experts in the hospitality industry: chefs, farmers, artisans, brewers, and distillers.”
Charlotte has always been a melting pot, and there’s a want to create this equal visibility across the hospitality industry. The Bayhaven Food & Wine Festival will take place from Friday, October 22nd to Sunday October 24th, for three-days of inspiration and education. The festival is using the awesome and innovative, Camp North End Campus, as their venue.
The founders of this brand new festival are two-times James Beard-nominated chef, Gregory Collier and wife/business partner, Subrina Collier, who launched their first restaurant, The Yolk in Rock Hill, SC, before moving the restaurant to Uptown Charlotte. They’re also the makers behind the celebrated local spot, Leah & Louise, here in Charlotte. Through culinary development, do they hope to see economic empowerment in their city, and that was one of the driving forces behind Bayhaven, as well as the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920s and 30s.
A full schedule of all the amazing events will be released soon but in the meantime, you can read up on some of the talented collaborators who will be featured in the festival, or sign up to volunteer if you feel inclined to! Some of the teased events will be the Chuckwagon Carnival, the Cotton Club Tasting Tents where you can sample from the industry’s hottest chefs, the Savoy Jazz Brunch with a jazz ensemble and the Front Porch Pickin’ event that serves up amazing BBQ.
Tickets are available for purchase here, and we encourage you to get tickets to the event of your choice before they sell out. Tickets prices range depending on which event you sign up for, and some events have already sold out.
We hope to see you here for this brand new, exciting festival headed to Charlotte this October!
