Ready to become the parent of a baby tree?
TreesCharlotte is celebrating Earth Day by giving back to the community! This Thursday and at participating breweries, free 1-inch saplings will be available while supplies last. Saplings, or baby trees, have slender trunks, and are usually under 3 years old. A few different breweries will be handing out these cute baby trees:
- Armored Cow Brewing, 8821 JW Clay Blvd. 28262
- Birdsong, 1016 North Davidson St.
- Blue Blaze Brewing Co., 528 South Turner Ave. 28208
- Catawba Brewing, 933 Louise Ave #105. 28204
- Edge City Brewery, 6209 Old Post Road, Suite 109. 28212
- The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, 4150 Yancey Road. 28217
- NoDa Brewing Company, 2921 N. Tryon St. 28206
- Petty Thieves Brewing, 413 Dalton Ave., Suite B. 28206
- Supperland, 1212 The Plaza. 28205
Petty Thieves have even done their part and planed two saplings on the property.
On top of these breweries offering free baby trees (as well as delicious craft brew) there’s also a scavenger hunt if you’re up for the challenge. TreesCharlotte will be hosting a fun and adventurous hunt that allows participants to engage with nature. Complete 5 of the 8 tasks and send all photos to Kate@TreesCharlotte.org. Tasks like identifying a tree with lichen on its bar (which is the harmless green-gray marks on a tree trunk) to taking a photo of a bird in a tree.
