From Marg specials to full day fiestas!
Cinco De Mayo is right around the corner, and there are a few fun events, restaurants and take-home deals for you to indulge in. Some of these places require reservations or pre-orders, so call ahead so you don’t miss out on the fun! Here’s 5 of the plans and food specials we’re the most excited about.
1. Cinco de Mayo at Camp North End
This Saturday, from 6pm to 11pm, head on over to Camp North End for an evening full of celebrations. The party will take place in the Boileryard. Enjoy the drink specials, live music, and DJs spinning great tunes, and the best part is, admission is free. Come early and explore all of the art and food that Camp North End has to offer.

2. On The Border
Come to On the Border for drink specials, like their $5 house Margaritas (fruit flavors are only $1.50 more) and their $1 Gold tequila shots. They’ve also got Grand Marnier souvenir sidecars on a first-come, first-serve basis due to their limited quantity. Pair a Margarita with their delicious tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas and you’ll be in heaven.

3. Chuy’s
Chuy’s is another Mexican joint offering yummy drink specials all day long–and you even get a commemorative cup if you order a Grande ‘Rita. Chuy’s offers are included on their Martinis and Margaritas (which you can add extra tequila to for $1 more). Whether you want your ‘rita on the rocks or blended, flavored or not, Chuy’s got you covered. They’re also offering take-home meal kits of their delicious Tex-Mex meals for a safe but delicious meal.

4. Cinco De Mayo at Southbound
Celebrate Cinco De Mayo at Southbound next Wednesday, the 5th. They’ll be doing all day drink specials, a taco stand in the music yard (with tacos ranging from pastor to chicken adobo to carne asada) plus nachos, and accompanied by a live Dj set. The music starts at 5pm but the drinks will be flowing all day.

5. Catering by Cordré

If you’re looking to have an at-home party or are hosting an event, Cordré is catering a Mexican feast that serves 4-6 people for $75. Get tacos de chicken tinga and carne asada with Spanish rice, Black beans, pico de gallo, salsa with guacamole, flour tortillas, and Coronorita mix. 6. Morelia Gourmet Paletas
Morelia Gouremt Paletas has just opened up here in Charlotte. From drizzled to topped to stuffed, these gourmets popsicles offer a variety of different flavor combinations for you to choose from. For Cinco de Mayo, Morelia’s is offering free specialty toppings on any of their 16 paleta flavors. Those special toppings include Smores, Nutella, and Waffle!
