Bean Vegan Cuisine (aside from its cute rhyming name) is a comfort vegan classic. Everything is 100% vegan with a menu that largely consists of comfort eats like Quesadillas, Tacos, Burgers, and vegan desserts. We’d recommend the gluten-free, vegan, seasonal cheesecake for a sweet treat after your meal.

Fern Flavors is all about that healthy, fresh food and flavors with an emphasis on cafe and bar food. Think of fresh garden salads, vegan renditions of bar classics like mac and cheese and small bites, and sweet desserts.  One of their most popular dishes are the buffalo cauliflower wings served with a side of dill dressing and paired with carrots and celery.

Try Jyoti’s World Cuisine if you’re interested in vegetarian options from all over the globe. A lot of food in Africa, the Middle East, or Asia are all vegan or easily made vegan. Jyoti’s is highlighting these dishes, from Ethipoian to Indian, with a lot of authentic taste that’s animal free! Fill up on delicious curries, rice plates, and sandwiches and pretend you’re traveling the globe.

4. Oh My Soul

Located in NoDa is Oh My Soul, a cute and cruelty-free eatery. They serve everything from brunch to dinner to desserts and even cocktails. For Lunch or Dinner, they’re making Fully Loaded Sweet Potatoes, Vegan Fish & Chips, and Vegan Burgers called “Vurgers.” For dessert, try a “hippie hippie shake” or Waffle. For brunch, they’ve got cute pancakes, waffles, and overnight oats to choose from. Definitely a Charlotte favorite.

5. Queen City Grounds

A craft coffee shop serving up vegan treats is here in Charlotte. Their coffees change depending on the season (right now they’re doing a Spring menu with some delicious fresh & floral treats) and serving pastries and breakfast along side it. You can order a Seasonal Nitro Latte with lavender vanilla syrup, cold brew concentrate and oatmilk and an avocado toast to start your morning, and you’ll be glad you did.

6. Living Kitchen

Their headline is “organic and plant-based experiences” and you can see this ring true in their menu. They’ve got collard green wraps, kale salads, and raw chocolate pies, and best of all, everything is made with 100% fresh and organic ingredients. Don’t miss out on trying out the different soup of the day options they have as well. Most recently, they prepared a spicy corn chowder.

For all vegans and vegetarians that are missing out on soul food, look no further than Veltree. 100% vegan options abound with homemade, it’s-like-your-grandma-made-it-eats. From Krabcake sandwiches to Chick’n drumsticks, to Shrimp Po Boys and Mac n’ Cheeze, there’s something to satisfy your tastebuds.
